Polling stations reopening this morning at 7am for the second day of election day also in Sardinia where, in addition to the European elections, people are voting to renew the mayor and municipal council in 27 centres. Among these there are Cagliari and four other municipalities with over 15 thousand inhabitants: Sassari, Alghero, Monserrato and Sinnai. Today you will be able to vote until 11pm. The counting for the European elections will begin immediately, while we will have to wait until 2pm tomorrow for the count to start for the municipal elections.
Yesterday, at 11pm, theturnout for administrative elections it was 18.2%.
In municipalities with more than 15 thousand inhabitants: in Cagliari, 17.6% of those entitled to vote voted; in Monserrato 19.3%; in Sinnai 19.1%; in Sassari 17.6% of those entitled, while in Alghero 17.9%.
For them European elections, 10% of those entitled to vote voted. In 2019 the final turnout, but voting took place on a single day, was 36.2%. The turnout is higher in large cities and in towns where there is concomitance with municipal elections: 19.9% voted in Monserrato, 19.5% in Sinnai, 18% in Sassari, 44% in Putifigari, in Cagliari 18.2%, in Calasetta 31.3%.
