polling stations open • Nine from Florence

Today is election day. In Tuscany, 185 municipalities out of a total of 273 will vote (67.8 of the total); among these, 86 under 5 thousand inhabitants; 65 between 5 and 15 thousand inhabitants; 34 over 15 thousand inhabitants, including three capitals: Florence, Livorno and Prato.

We vote today Saturday 8 June from 3pm to 11pm and tomorrow Sunday 9 June from 7am to 11pm at the same time as the European elections. Any runoffs (for municipalities with over 15 thousand inhabitants, where no candidate will have exceeded 50% of the votes) will be held on 23 and 24 June. Counting for the European elections will begin immediately after the polls close.

There center-left mayoral candidate Sara Funaro he has already voted, at 5.00 pm, in section 59 of the Castelnuovo high school (in via della Colonna 10).

Also the mayoral candidate of the Left Municipal Project (Possible, Power to the People, Communist Refoundation) and Florence Environmentalist and Solidarity) Dmitrij Palagi has already gone to vote.

In Empoli Alessio Mantellassi voted at 5pm on section 31 of the Ponte a Elsa primary school, in via Caduti di Cefalonia.

Counting for the municipal elections after the vote on 8 and 9 June will begin on Monday 10th at 2pm.
