“There is great concern among the shopkeepers and residents of via Gorizia, after the communication received from the company InRete which will start the renovation works on the gas networks and the aqueduct from 17 June – works which will end in mid-September – in stretch between the roundabout of via Monte San Michele and via Lughese. The modernization of the networks dating back to the 1970s and now obsolete is a positive fact in itself, however the method of carrying out the works communicated to citizens which will lead to the closure of the roadway and the interruption of traffic, with repercussions negative for the economic activities that are still dealing with the damage and heavy economic losses due to the flood of May 2023 and which, contrary to what the administration claims, have not received any reimbursement and have had to renovate shops and premises with your life savings by activating bank loans. The same concern was also expressed by residents who have to access their homes and garages.” It is the speech of the centre-left mayoral candidate, Graziano Rinaldini.
“The duration of the works, which will last for four months, risks putting the many economic activities that are only now getting back on their feet after the huge losses suffered in serious difficulty, up to the point of closure – he continues -. We ask Mayor Zattini and his councilors to intervene promptly and take an active part in defining the times and methods of carrying out the works so as not to jeopardize the activity of commercial businesses, as is instead happening in the districts of Vecchiazzano and San Martino in Strada where, following the works for the construction of the ring road, traders have suffered serious economic damage as early as December 2023 and where the situation will only worsen due to the interruption of traffic, transit and parking difficulties and stops that will continue for several months, in the absence of interventions, clear information and communications from the administration”.
