Today, June 2nd, marks the 78th anniversary of the Italian Republic Day, certainly the most important anniversary in our country. For this solemn ceremony the Prefecture of Avellino involved all the state institutions, with the aim of maintaining faith in the principles of the Italian Constitution. Among these, the Avellino Fire Brigade also took part, led by Commander Eng. Mario Bellizzi, the operational staff and that of the National Association of the Fire Brigade of the local section, who together set up an exhibition with historical relics relating to the foundation of the ninth Civic Fire Brigade of Avellino, and the exhibition of historic and latest generation vehicles. After the laying of the laurel wreath at the War Memorial by the new Prefect Rossana Riflesso in the presence of the civil and military authorities, the ceremony moved to Piazza Della Libertà, where the various associations and their banners converged.
After the greetings of His Excellency the Prefect of Avellino, and the reading of the greeting message of the Head of State Sergio Mattarella, the flag raising ceremony was held and followed by the lowering of the Italian Flag along the wall of the Government Palace , to the tune of the Mameli anthem, carried out by the Avellino Fire Brigade and the Alpine Rescue of the Guardia di Finanza, applauded for a long time by the large audience present. Subsequently, in the Prefecture hall, the Meritories were awarded, among which the appointment of Commander of the Republic was conferred on Eng. Giampietro Boscaino, General Director of the Fire Brigade and current Regional Director of Puglia, honor presented by the Prefect and Commander Bellizzi. After this ceremony, Prefect Riflesso visited all the exhibitions of the various State Corps along Corso Vittorio Emanuele, stopping with Commander Mario Bellizzi to see historic vehicles and those newly assigned to the Avellino Fire Brigade Command.
