Andrea Vendrame wins Stage 19 of the 2024 Giro d’Italia

Andrea Vendrame (Decathlon AG2R World Team) he won the nineteenth stage of the Giro d’Italia 107, the 157 km Mortegliano-Sappada. Second and third place went to Pelayo Sanchez (Movistar Team) and Georg Steinhauser (EF Education – EasyPost) respectively.

Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) he remains in the Maglia Rosa as leader of the general classification.

The stage winner Andrea Vendrame, immediately after arriving, he stated: “I had this stage as my goal since the beginning of the Giro. It was important to get into the day’s breakaway, I managed myself from there. I attacked downhill, taking risks, I saw that I had a good advantage and I continued to push. It’s a special emotion because I won close to home.”
