«The “brand” of the Massafra Carnival is fundamental to giving us an identity, to create a more professionalized “passion”. The logo must be filled with content and is a point of arrival for a strong departure.”

This is the summary of the thoughts of mayor of Massafra Fabrizio Quarto on the occasion of co-design workshop which took place yesterday evening at the Palazzo della Cultura, for the creation of a shared vision of the Carnival “brand”.

In addition to the mayor Fabrizio Quarto and to the councilor for Culture, Tourism and Entertainment Domenico Lasigna operators from the communication sector and representatives of local associations attended, offering their contribution with ideas, suggestions and “notes” at the creation event of the new brand that will represent the Massafra Carnival.

The councilor for Culture, Tourism and Entertainment Domenico Lasigna focused on the process underway for the Carnival with the imminent delivery of the new structures for papier-mâché processing and with theimportant “branding” of the Carnival brand which will be officially presented on June 22ndin Piazza Garibaldi, on the occasion of the awards ceremony of the seventy-first edition of the Carnival and the show “…I don’t know what to do before” with Uccio De Santis.

Mayor Quarto spoke of the need to share this Carnival journey which is writing, with the creation of the Carnival Citadel, a historical page and the closing of a challenging journey.

Giulia Di Pierro, key account manager of the company “Developing.it”, illustrated three brand proposals, starting from the strengths of the Massafra Carnival which are: tradition, identity and participation, the latter being the key word of “work”. 71 years of history enclosed in a logo and an experience lived on the street: a rooster with multicolored feathers holding the “cupa cupa” in his hand and the writing Carnival of Massafra with the crystallized payoff “all protagonists, no spectators”.

There were various reactions from those present to the drafts presented, still to be completed: it is necessary to better define the contours of the “dark dark”, it is necessary to insert some elements of the territory, there is no surprise, a greater presence of color would be desirable.

The suggestions have been expressed: the appointment is now for Saturday 22 June, with the long-awaited evening: presentation of the logo of the Massafra Carnival, awards ceremony for the seventy-first edition and “…I don’t know what to do first.”
