The artistic cast of the concert was announced today (22 May) in Rome, at the ministry of culture Puccini according to Muti which will take place on June 28th in Lucca.

Maestro Riccardo Muti will conduct theCherubini Orchestra, on the twentieth anniversary of its foundation: 120 musicians will perform on a special stage and an iconic place like the historic walls of Lucca. The artists, chosen by maestro Muti, they are the sopranos Eleonora Buratto, Lidia Fridman, Mariangela Sicilia and the tenors Luciano Ganci, Dmitry Korchak and Francesco Meli.

The evening will be broadcast worldwide by Rai with tickets already sold all over the world, in particular in the United States and Australia. This was announced by the undersecretary for culture, Gianmarco Mazzi, speaking in Rome on the occasion of the study day dedicated to Giacomo Puccini.

“This concert is a very important event for the celebrations of the centenary of Giacomo Puccini – he underlined the mayor of Lucca, Mario Pardini -. This is a unique event that will take place in the great composer’s hometown, an international tribute that makes us all very proud to be from Lucca.”
