SWISS. Lecco’s ski mountaineers Massimo Ratti And Valentino Alquà have lost their lives in recent days in the Swiss mountains. The tragedy occurred after the two were swept up from an avalanche.

The two, a 30 year old and a 50 year oldThey were overwhelmed by an avalanche on Pigne d’Arollaan almost high peak 3,800 meters, between the Matterhorn and the Grand Combin. Next to them was also a third person, miraculously unharmed, who managed to raise the alarm.

Swiss rescuers immediately responded to the scene the helicopter of the Air Glaciers company to recover the bodies. “He lost his life yesterday in a serious accident in the Swiss mountains, together with Massimo Ratti, both Lecco. We are close to Valentino’s family and Massimo’s. For many of us it was above all a dear friend.”

Adding to the statements of the rescuers also the representatives of the CAI of Lecco: “Yesterday was supposed to be a day of pure celebration for our section, but late in the morning we learned the terrible news of his disappearance following the triggering of an avalanche by Massimo Ratti and Valentino Alquà”.
