The ninth edition of Mare&Mosto – Le Vigne Sospese, the most important Ligurian event dedicated to local wine and oil organized by Ais Liguria – Italian Association, ended yesterday at the former Convent of the Annunziata in the Baia del Silenzio in Sestri Levante. Sommelier, in collaboration with the Municipality of Sestri Levante and the Liguria Region.
The event, on Sunday and Monday, confirmed the turnout of previous editions, with a great success for the scheduled meetings and masterclasses, which were sold out. Particularly significant this year was the participation of local producers, around 80, and the participation of restaurateurs and sector workers. As per tradition, Mare&Mosto ended with the final and the award ceremony of the Best Sommelier of Liguria 2024 competition. This year’s winner is Alessandro Frasca of the Ais delegation of Imperia, awarded by the president of the Italian Sommelier Association Sandro Camilli and by the president of Ais Liguria Marco Rezzano. Coming from Sanremo, Alessandro Frasca, 36 years old, is the owner of the La Fazenda restaurant in Camporosso (IM). Second place Andrea Monaco of the AIS delegation of Imperia; in third position on the podium was Morgana Tuvo, of the AIS delegation from La Spezia. The winner was awarded the title and diploma of Best Sommelier of the Liguria Region 2024, in addition to having access to the national semi-finals for the Best Sommelier of Italy, he was awarded a scholarship of 800 euros aimed at specializing in the profession of sommelier, a uniform offered by the company VP Italian Brand. The second place winner is entitled to a discount voucher of 100 euros offered by the company VP Italian Brand, the two third place winners are entitled to a discount voucher of 500 euros which can be used for the purchase of the Ais uniform, offered by VP Italian Brand.
