Barre explosion caused by a gas leak: one injured, building evacuated

It was a gas leak leaked from one LPG cylinder to cause the explosion that yesterday evening, around 9, shook the calm of via Verdirame, in the Sbarre district of Reggio Calabria (HERE).

This is what the Fire Brigade of the provincial command found out when they intervened on site after the explosion occurred in a house post to ground floor of one four-storey building.

A non-EU citizen lived in the same room who fortunately managed to go out alone from the apartment: slightly injured was entrusted to 118 health workers and then accompanied in Gum for the necessary investigations.

The intervention of the firefighters resulted inextinction of the outbreaks created inside the home and at securing the site. Following the explosion doors and windows they were torn up while some internal objects were projected outside the house.

As a precaution it was due evacuate the entire building waiting for other technical-instrumental checks. The families living there had to find hospitality from relatives.
