A first appointment, a meeting after a year to discover the first previews of the twenty-sixth edition of the Suq Festival, will take place tomorrow, Thursday 9 May, at 5.30 pm, in the evocative Sala del Bergamasco of the Genoa Chamber of Commerce.
«Since last year we have resumed the good habit of comparing ourselves a month before the start with the public and with the network of partners and collaborators – states Carla Peirolero, artistic director of the Suq Festival – It is a significant test! Since November and even before, we have been working on the program and on raising the essential funds to support it. During the meeting we receive valuable impressions and suggestions, sometimes proposals that there is still time to include in the program. Participation has always been our main objective.”
After the great success of the 25th edition, which closed with 75,000 attendees and a press review of over 180 releases, this year the Suq Festival continues its commitment to an accessible and inclusive culture, concluding the three-year project supported by the Ministry of Culture, which is developed around the Atlas of Voices theme.
The Festival, which this year will start with a preview in installments on June 13th, confirms its multi-sensory and participatory nature which has the theater festival at its heart but as always intertwines music, dance, books, meetings, workshops for all ages , show cooking and much more, immersed in a Mediterranean bazaar where you can find 13 different cuisines and crafts from all over the world.
The meeting will also present the initiatives dedicated to the environment with the main events of the EcoSuq event, a program created in collaboration with Cittadini Sostenibili and the entire Genoa association network as well as with historic eco partners. The Suq Festival was among the first in Italy to commit to the green and also for this edition it obtained the patronage of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security.
At the meeting it will be possible to renew or sign the Suq Card 2024, normal and Special, which entitles you to many discounts and to participate in the prize draw.
