Moments of fear near the municipality of Ardea, in the province of Rome. A two-year-old boy accidentally ended up in an artificial lake in the Marina Tor San Lorenzo area. It happened in Viale Marino, around 7pm last night, when the child, during a religious celebration attended by around 50 people of the Roma ethnic group, escaped the sight of his parents and fell into the artificial lake.
What happened
The health personnel who arrived to rescue the child, despite a thousand difficulties, managed to take care of the child amidst the screams of his parents. After initial treatment on site, the child was transported under code red to the Bambin Gesù hospital in Rome by air ambulance. The child’s condition is said to be very serious: his life is in danger. The Carabinieri of Ardea, Tor San Lorenzo and the Compagnia di Anzio are investigating the incident which occurred around 6.30pm. According to some testimonies, the families present involved are from the Ardea Tor San Lorenzo area of Roma origin.
