The motion of no confidence presented by the center-right against the governor Michele Emiliano was rejected. He just got it 18 votes, while 26 were needed to be accepted (half plus one of the 51 members). They voted against the motion 31 councilors, two absent at the time of the vote. The centre-right groups (FI, FdI, Lega) plus the councilors Stellato (IV), Lanotte (UDC) and Laricchia (M5S), who have always been in opposition, voted in favor of the motion. While the other 4 councilors of the 5 Stars (in the majority and in the council until a few weeks ago), the Democratic Party, the civic leaders of Con and Per la Puglia said no. The Action group is also in favor despite the many criticisms they have directed at Emiliano.

I ask you to reject the motion of no confidence, because I honestly don’t deserve to be voted out of confidence. I tell you this from the bottom of my heart. I may have made plenty of mistakes in my life, but not to the point of being disheartened at a time when, in twenty years of very hard work, we have truly changed the history of this Region.” Emiliano said this during the discussion of the motion of no confidence in the Regional Council, closing his speech.
