FP Cgil Penitentiary Police – Frosinone prison, cells set on fire again. Detainees. Just a week after the other fire

FROSINONE- “Again, a night spent putting out a fire and supervising the inmates who had caused it. It happened again after just a week and the day before last night, in the Frosinone prison, once again some inmates set fire to their cells and the policemen on duty first saved them and then gathered them in the courtyards of the ‘passages’ to prevent them from becoming intoxicated. The extinguishing operations ended yesterday morning 6 May just before dawn.”

This was communicated by the regional coordinator of the FP Cgil Penitentiary Police Ciro Di Domenico: “Thanks to the timely intervention of the Penitentiary Police, no one was seriously intoxicated, neither among the Policemen nor among the detained people. Only a few inmates were accompanied to the prison infirmary for slight respiratory problems. In these cases, however, the tragedy is around the corner and the police can no longer stand working on the razor’s edge between attacks, fires and work shifts that start in the morning and end at dawn the next day due to the absurd behavior of prisoners. with obvious psychiatric problems.”

Mirko Manna of the FP Cgil Nazionale: “The Frosinone prison suffers from a serious shortage of Penitentiary Police personnel which inevitably compromises the safety of the Institute. We want to express our compliments to our colleagues at the Frosinone prison named after “Giuseppe Pagliei” for having been able to deal with the emergency despite the fatigue and stress of a unique job among public administration workers”.
