Awarded on the stage of the Off 2024 circuit of European Photography – set up in Piazza del Popol Giost – the Cosmografia project by Suolocollettivo, which (thanks to the Max Spreafico Prize) will be given the opportunity to exhibit a new photographic exhibition in 2025, using the contribution of One thousand Euro. The winning exhibition Cosmografia – exhibited in Marco Sergiampietri’s tattoo studio (in via dei due Gobbi, 1) – was born as a reflection by artists of different backgrounds on ecosystems and their inalienability.
The Earth is collectively rethought through multiple visions which with “photographs, organic assemblages, remains and mineral concretions attract each other to produce something that exceeds their sum and at the same time brings us back to unity, like a giant molecule, or like the Earth” . Cosmografia is the fruit of Suolocollettivo: an alliance of artists born in 2023 based on a project by Taryn Ferrentino who together investigate the possibility of building shared earthly imaginaries. It was precisely the profound connection between objects and ideas that convinced the jury chaired by Walter Guadagnini, artistic director of the festival together with Tim Clark and Luce Lebart.
The projects that participated in the Circuit by responding to the Off 2024 call were over 260. Exhibitions that were increasingly refined and original, so much so that the organization – coordinated by Annachiara Rea and Ilaria Gentilini – awarded two more with honorable mention very interesting projects. One went to the exhibition “Not to hide us” (via Roma 49), where the collagist artist Audiocassetta intervenes on the shots of the photographer Irene Ferri. The other mention was awarded to Federica Nannini for the exhibition “The failure of objects” set up in Casimiro Essenza (Via Emilia San Pietro, 1/m), which sees the recovery of photographs of families who were victims of the flood of May 2023.
