Tragic accident at Casteldaccia, 5 workers died due to poisoning during maintenance work on a sewage system. Another of the workers, present on the construction site on the outskirts of Palermo, was transported in very serious conditions to the Polyclinic.
The accident happened before 2pm in via Nazionale SS113 at an iwaste water lifting system of the AMAP company. “In the tank the concentration of hydrogen sulfide, a gas that forms from the fermentation of sewage, was 10 times higher than the maximum limits,” said the provincial commander of the Palermo fire brigade Girolamo Bentivoglio.
Why is sulphurous acid so harmful?
