Nutrievo awards ceremony on Tuesday in Taranto

On Tuesday 7 May the Sala Monfredi of the Taranto Chamber of Commerce will host the awards ceremony of the Nutrievo Prize, organized by Ajprol.

An award established with the aim of promoting and enhancing high quality extra virgin olive oil produced exclusively in Italy, with particular attention to its connection with a healthy and balanced lifestyle. This recognition also aims to honor the entire production chain and protect consumers, guaranteeing them access to excellent products.

In fact, it is not just a competition between olive producers, millers and/or bottlers, but also an opportunity to spread awareness about the nutritional benefits of extra virgin olive oil, which are still little known by the majority of consumers. Its dissemination aims to increase the conscious consumption of this precious food.

In recent days the evaluation panel tasted the oils from which those to be awarded in the categories were chosen:

Conventional extra virgin olive oil

Intense fruity (First, second and third place)

Medium fruity (First, second and third place)

Light fruity (First, second and third place)

Extra virgin olive oil from organic farming (first, second and third place)

DOP extra virgin olive oil (first, second and third place)

PGI extra virgin olive oil (first, second and third place.

The event is expected to include the participation of the regional councilor for Agriculture, the rector of the University of Bari, the mayor of Taranto, the president of the Brindisi Taranto Chamber of Commerce, the regional president of Confagricoltura Puglia, the president of the oil millers association Puglia and the president of Ajprol.
