Hamas ready for ceasefire, but Netanyahu still won’t leave Gaza

The approval could arrive within the next few hours Hamas to the latest proposal for a ceasefire in exchange for the release of the Israeli hostages. According to the Palestinian newspaper Al-Quds and the Saudi one Asharq, according to which the agreement is now very close. A Hamas source reportedly stated that the Islamist group would be willing to accept the first phase of the plan which does not include the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gazabecause he believes he still holds “the cards for greater power over the identity of some of the abducted, IDF soldiers who are still alive.”

But Israel still wants to move forward with the destruction of Gaza

Good news which however clashes with what was stated by a Tel Aviv official, who denied the intention of Netanyahu to withdraw all troops from Gaza upon conclusion of a three-stage ceasefire agreement. “Contrary to reports, Israel will under no circumstances accept an end to the war as part of a deal to release our hostages,” the source told Israeli media. “As decided by the political leadership, the IDF will enter Rafah and destroy the remaining Hamas battalions – with or without a temporary truce to allow the release of our hostages,” the official adds.

Meanwhile, the dead Palestinians reach 34,654

And while we argue, Palestinians continue to die. In the last 24 hours the bodies of 32 people killed by Israeli attacks have been taken to hospitals in Gaza. This was stated by the Ministry of Health Gaza, according to which the Palestinian death toll since the beginning of the conflict has reached 34,654. Also in the last 24 hours, 41 people were injured, bringing the number since the beginning of the conflict to 77,908.
