“A day as a fisherman”: the interview with Francesca Biondo
TERMOLI. Yesterday, Friday 3 May, was a morning to remember, dedicated to the little ones as part of the “A day as a fisherman” project, which saw the children of the Schweitzer Comprehensive Institute as protagonists.
Activity carried out within the framework of the National Three-Year Fisheries and Aquaculture Program – 2024 year of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry.
The course is organized by the National Fisheries Observatory, in collaboration with the Op San Basso of Termoli.
An exciting day dedicated to educating and entertaining student explorers about the fascinating world of fishing. The fishing boat becomes a classroom and the sea the book to leaf through, learning traditional fishing techniques and discovering the secrets of cooking together with chef Giorgio.
A DAY AS A FISHERMAN
In Termoli for the “a day as a fisherman” initiative. A day dedicated to 50 fourth grade children, from the school in Via Stati Uniti of the Schweitzer comprehensive institute, who visited a trawling boat to learn about the spaces, the fishing techniques, the rigging of the nets and the rules of sea together with commander Basso Cannarsa. The journey continued at the Pesce Nostrum refreshment point, in the presence of the Port Authority of Termoli, where together with chef Giorgio and Giuseppe Nardone the children learned about Adriatic fish and how to transform cod into nuggets with a special flavour.

A little-known and sometimes despised world which instead has a fundamental role for entire coastal communities and to guarantee the best fish on Italian tables – declared Francesca Biondo, president of the national fishing observatory – for this reason, in addition to our main role of training operators in the sector continue our commitment to transmit to children the love of the sea and the knowledge of a traditional sector such as fishing”.
