The mayor of Girifalco, Pietrantonio Cristofaro, received, yesterday afternoon in the Council room, the new firefighters volunteers serving the Girifalco Detachment.
The group, led by Detachment Chief, Vincenzo Ferraina, was accompanied by inspectors Massimo Conforti and Domenico Angotti.
During the meeting, the new volunteers who have recently attended the training course for Volunteer Firefighters organized by the Catanzaro fire brigade command were presented.
The intensive training period lasting three weeks, the direction of which was entrusted to a Fire Inspector assisted by two Professional Instructors who were entrusted with teaching the practical skills and abilities of the Fire Brigade, involved 32 young people from several municipalities in the province.
The 32 volunteer firefighters deemed suitable went, precisely, to implement the personnel of the three voluntary detachments of the Catanzaro Fire Brigade Command (Girifalco, Taverna and Martirano Lombardo) which, together with the headquarters of the permanent firefighters , allow us to ensure urgent technical assistance throughout the province.
During the meeting in Girifalco, the headquarters of the Detachment and the importance of the garrison for the entire district were also discussed.
