The Fermo Provincial Secretariat of the SAP, on the afternoon of May 2nd, had the pleasure of being received by His Excellency the Prefect of Fermo Dr. Edoardo D’Alascio.
The competence and ability to listen of His Excellency the Prefect have created the conditions for a constructive dialogue based on concrete commitment to the resolution of some of the critical issues represented. The Provincial Secretary of Fermo Alessandro Patacconi, the Deputy Provincial Secretary Costantino Alessandri and the Provincial Councilor Carlo Paliotta had the opportunity to illustrate the situation of serious staff shortage in the Traffic Police Section of Fermo and the Amandola Detachment which is not even remedied with the recent “strengthening plan” of the PS Department. These offices, in fact, now seem “forgotten”! The lack of the “road” patrol in interventions for the detection of road accidents inevitably has repercussions on the staff of the Fermo Police Headquarters, who are systematically distracted from their delicate task of controlling the territory and providing public assistance. In this regard, we discussed to try to find an immediate and concrete solution. There was a sincere debate on the safety of the Fermo coast which, as is well known, presents numerous critical issues, despite the constant presence of our police officers in the area, who record excellent results on a daily basis. His Excellency the Prefect, who was already aware of most of the situations presented to him, having discussed with the heads of the Police Headquarters and the Road in the days following his inauguration, gave us hope regarding the concrete possibility that every topic discussed will be seriously evaluated in the short term, with the specific intent of finding concrete and immediate solutions. The SAP, after having illustrated to His Excellency the countless efforts faced so far by all the policemen and women of Fermo, in addition to their very high sense of duty, has guaranteed its support and the loyal collaboration necessary to achieve the set objectives.
