Descriptive text here

The wait is over! After the real boom in votes (more than 75,000) which accompanied the race for the Ballon d’Or Promotion, Second And Third Categoryfrom 10.00 this morning (until midnight on Thursday 9 May) it will be possible to vote for your favorites of Excellence And First Category.

The winners will be revealed and awarded on the evening of Monday 13 May at Cinema MIV of Varese (click here to book your place) during 13th edition of the Varese Sport Award.

Who are the candidates? Let’s find out together.

EXCELLENCE

GIOELE CAZZANIGA (Base 96 Seveso): striker born in 1997, with his 14 goals he contributed decisively to the quiet salvation of his team; added value for the category, it is certainly not a surprise to find it here.

MATTIA GABRIELLI (Oltrepò): championships are won with defenses and the red and white club has taken this unwritten law of the world of football literally: the class of ’96 has proven to be an authentic wall that has been able to undermine the best forwards in the category and has demonstrated up front of having a certain goal-scoring habit… (seven).

FRANCESCO GIANGASPERO (Ardor Lazzate): striker born in ’93, with his goals he has dragged Ardor to their current second place and with 25 goals (equal to Salom della Castanese) he leads the scorers’ table.

JORDAN PEDROCCHI (Magenta): midfielder born in ’91 who is a real luxury for the category. With his 10 goals he has allowed the yellow-blues to consolidate at the top and the playoffs are now in the safe.

DENNIS SCAPINELLO (Solbiatese): there is certainly no need for introductions given that the Nerazzurri striker born in 1995 is here to defend the title he won last year. An injury tried to put a spoke in his wheels, but his talent cannot be stopped and the 11 goals on the scoresheet prove it: also decisive in reaching the final of the Italian Cup.

FIRST CATEGORY

JOAQUIN CARRION (Olimpia Tresiana): double figures (10 goals) for a regular among the candidates. After the super season at Laveno, the class of ’95 has repeated himself with the Olimpia shirt and aims to improve the third place with which he closed the vote last year.

MATTIA GHIZZI (Morazzone): the identity card says class of ’86, the older the field becomes, the more decisive it is. With 24 goals he secured the top of the goalscoring table and, needless to say, he played a crucial role in the rossoblù’s victory of the championship.

LORENZO LERCARA (Luino): much more than an added value for the category. The striker born in 1996 stood out with 11 goals in the championship, but above all he made the difference in the Cup by contributing 5 goals to the rossoblù’s conquest of promotion. Pure talent that deserves other stages.

MATTEO PIAZZA (Olimpia Tresiana): it will be an “internal struggle” given that competing with Carrion will also be his teammate born in ’98 who closed the championship with 19 goals and the certainty of being considered a luxury for the category.

PATRICK SCHULZ (Gorla Minore): certainly one of the happiest notes of the championship, given that the ’04 class was able to establish itself with goals (17) among the greats. The newly promoted team’s reaching the playoffs must largely be attributed to a young striker who looks to the future with ambition.
