A man stole sacred objects from a church to sell them for gold. The stolen goods did not produce the hoped-for profits
Not all that glitters is gold, not even chalices and patens. A popular saying that a gentleman of Busto Arsizio he evidently did not consider: the man in fact entered one of the city’s churches, stealing wine glasses and saucers on which the hosts were placed. With the spoils taken from the tabernacle we are went to a gold buywhere he made the bitter discovery: the stolen sacred objects were not composed entirely of gold. Disappointed and with empty pockets, he has threw it all into a bush.
THE CONFESSION – The man was already known to the police. On the same day he is presented to the police station where he is required to sign, wearing the same clothes with which he had committed the theft. The detail in fact allowed the police to recognize the individual viewing the footage from the CCTV cameras inside the church. When the police showed him the images and videos, the man admitted to having stolen the sacred objects, adding all the details of the story. Was reported for aggravated theft. The police pointed out that “his position will also be evaluated in view of a possible aggravation of the precautionary measure”.
