Packaging machines, Ucima and Vdma: meeting in Modena to strengthen cooperation between Italy and Germany

Modena – It took place in Modena a bilateral meeting between two of the most important packaging machinery manufacturing countries: theItaly and Germany. Ucima hosted the steering committee of Vdma, the German packaging machine manufacturers’ association. At the center of the talks was strengthening relations between the two nationsi so that we can make the most of the potential of both to work jointly on issues that have a global impact (quality standards, efficiency and healthiness, sustainability). These are the main themes ofagreement signed.

Riccardo Cavanna (pictured), president of Ucima, underlines: “We have seen a strong mutual desire to work jointly on common themes. During the discussion table we built a strong sense of common responsibility with respect to the world leadership we represent feeling the need to have an ever greater political representation and the need to create culture with respect to the packaging sector”. Christian Traumann, president of VDMA, echoes him: “Cooperation between our countries is fundamental. We are experiencing numerous and different revolutions, from the digital one to that of sustainability, and having common objectives carried out by market leaders allows the development of the sector based on values”.
