«After a month I once again forwarded a request for an urgent and joint hearing of Commissions II and IV on the “wild boar emergency” issue, also and above all in light of the alarm launched by Coldiretti Puglia in the meeting of last April 30th. In addition to the frequency and to the worrying increase in road accidents, Puglia is now invaded by 250 thousand wild boars and with this massive presence there is not only concern for a swine fever (PSA) alarm, but above all for the safety of people, both in the countryside and in the cities, with herds pushing right into urban centres between cars, children and the elderly, as has happened on more than one occasion in the center and on the seafront of Castellaneta Marina, scenes, among other things, filmed in a video that has been circulating on social media for weeks.”
