The 2024 edition of the Villa Bardini photography competition invited us to show the carefree side of spring. The Instagram community rewarded the photo of the sphere reflecting the wisteria by @cinini_cristina
A sphere reflects the many shades of lilac and purple of the wisteria in the Bardini Garden. The photo by @cinini_cristina won the ‘Giochi’ Sottoilglicine photo contest, gaining the highest number of likes (over 600).
This year too, the Villa Bardini community enthusiastically welcomed the moment of flowering of the wisteria in the pergola of the Bardini Garden, overlooking one of the most spectacular views of Florence. The flowering is greeted on social media by a riot of photographs and the pergola has become a symbol of the villa recognized throughout the world. To enhance the most original and beautiful shots, the CR Firenze Foundation, in collaboration with its instrumental entity, the Bardini and Peyron Monumental Parks Foundation, which manages the Villa Bardini complex, has created the photographic competition open to all.
The participants in the 2024 contest published their Sottoilglicine shots on Instagram from 12 to 25 April, interpreting the more carefree side of spring. The five finalist photos chosen by the competition jury were shared on Villa Bardini’s Instagram profile for the public vote, which took place on April 30th and May 1st.
The author of the winning photo will receive free entry, for two people, to the Garden and the exhibitions of Villa Bardini throughout 2024. The five finalist photos will be exhibited in the spaces of Villa Bardini.
