From May 18th the film about Grazia Deledda directed by Maria Grazia Perria

The first official release of the is scheduled for Saturday 18 May Love and Glory. The young Deledda the director’s film Maria Grazia Perria which tells the story of the youthful life of the Sardinian writer Grazia Deleddathe only Italian woman to win the Nobel Prize for literature. The national preview will be at the Eliseo Theater in Nuoro on May 18th: two screenings in the presence of the cast, the first at 6pm and the following at 9pm. The film will also be screened at the Eliseo on May 19th. This will be followed by numerous screenings in Sardinia and a national distribution (curated by Alessandro Murtas for Modis-Moderno Distribuzione) in the main Italian cities including Turin, Rome, Milan, Florence, Bologna, Pisa, Palermo and Bari.

The film, produced by Salvatore Cubeddu for Terra de Punt srl, reaches the general public just after the 150 years since the birth of Grazia Deledda. Love and Glory intends to tell how a young woman from a small town in the Sardinian interior, Nuoro, was able to emerge and achieve the two goals she had set for herself since she was very young: love and glory. The story spans 12 years of the writer’s life. She began in 1898 when she published her first story at the age of 17 Sardinian blood and ends in 1900, when at the age of 29 she married Palmiro Madesani, a state employee from Mantua with whom she moved to Rome. The film was made with contribution and the support from the Autonomous Region of Sardinia (through the Regional Law Notice 15/2005), of Sardinia Film Commission Foundation (Location Scouting Fund, Filming Cagliari), of the Sardinia Foundation and the Ministry of Culture and with the support of the Regional Ethnographic Institute of Sardinia.

Filming took place between Cagliari and the province of Nuoro.
