02.05.2024 – 10.00 – Just before 11pm yesterday, 1 May 2024, i Fire fighters of the command of Gorizia intervened with the team and the tanker of the Monfalcone detachment, supported by a further tanker and the guard officer from the Gorizia headquarters, to an apartment fire located on the second and last floor of a building with 6 residential units hamlet of Begliano in the municipality of San Canzian d’Isonzo (GO).

Once on site, the firefighters found the owner of the apartment already on the streetthen they entered the building and while part of the teams took care of extinguishing the fire, which started from the kitchen of the second floor apartment and had spread to the other rooms of the accommodation, the rest of the firefighters took care of checking how many people were still present inside the building, temporarily evacuating the only 2 tenants present. The work of the firefighters prevented the fire from spreading from the apartment affected by the fire to the other apartments in the building. The tenant of the burned apartment was taken care of by healthcare personnel who took him to the hospital for checks and treatment. The fire brigade put out the flames. they took care of the making the property affected by the fire safe, accommodation declared unusable, and of the entire building, also providing for the evacuation of fumes and an instrumental check to verify that there were no residues of the gases produced by combustion in the building and that the air was breathable. At the end of the operations, the 2 tenants who had been temporarily evacuated were able to return to their accommodation. Still the causes of the fire are being investigated. State Police are on site, within their jurisdiction.
