Sottocornola wins the Talamonese night match

The top five is completed by the Italian master 50 vice champion in the 10,000 meters on the track Cinzia Zugnoni (GS CSI Morbegno) and from Valchiavennasca Mariarosa Pighetti (Team Valtellina). Grand finale with the men’s 5 km race and here the script already seen at the Morbegnese Trophy on 25 April is repeated: after an initial study lap, the Talamonese Mattia Sottocornola (Atl. Lecco) and the captain of GP Santi Graziano Zugnoni they greet the company.

But Mattia, thanks to the home support and an excellent condition, already demonstrated in Morbegno 5 days earlier, presses on the accelerator and quickly overtakes Graziano, winner 3 days earlier at the Notturna dei palazzi Tirano. After the last solo lap, Sottocornola received warm applause from his fellow villagers and numerous fans and won in 15’56”, 28″ ahead of the always competitive Zugnoni who took part in all three rounds of the Valtellina grand slam of road racing (25 April in Morbegno, 27 April in Tirano and 30 April in Talamona).
