Minors, the day of pain: message of condolence from Mayor Reale for the deaths of Esposito and D’Auria

It is a day of pain, this 1st May 2024 for Minori who mourns two deaths: the young man Filippo Espositowho died at the age of 40 in Treviso and the former municipal official Antonio D’Auria.

The mayor expresses the feelings of condolence of the entire community Andrea Reale through a message that we publish below:

«Today our community becomes poorer but in memory it is enriched with precious examples of life. Two pieces of news that leave us speechless: the passing of Antonio D’Auria and the young Filippo Esposito, two sons of our land, two examples of goodness and industriousness, two lives that will remain engraved in the hearts of those who knew and frequented them. The kind-faced accountant who served our community for decades as our Municipality’s Financial Services Manager. Jovial and humane, understanding but uncompromising, he played his role as a family man in a community that was simpler and more genuine at the time. Dear accountant, you have been a life teacher for me, attracted by your being a good man but full of experience and professionalism. I listened to you for hours as a child, because with your simplicity you knew how to touch the soul of even a little boy. Your humanity was infinite, a man from other times but young at heart. I thank you personally because you contributed to my personal training, I thank you by interpreting the feelings of the entire Minori community and of the many work colleagues who have been lucky enough to share years of collaboration with you. I extend my deepest condolences to his family, his wife and his beloved sons Marco and Francesco. Together with Antonio’s soul, Filippo’s soul also flew to heaven today! He had left the country to move to Cornuda in the province of Treviso where he lived with his wife and children. The Lord called him precisely on the day in which May 1st is celebrated, the work that characterizes and profoundly informs our being here on this earth and Filippo honored his work, building a splendid family and always making himself appreciated for his human qualities and kindness even outside his native country. He often returned to Minori for Santa Trofimena, for Good Friday, with a heart full of joy and demonstrating a very strong attachment to traditions and everything beautiful that was done in the town. There are no words to console the family, who I embrace affectionately! They are those absurd events, which you cannot explain, for which you cannot find a reason. The country remains astonished, frozen by the news of the death of a young man, they are bloody wounds that mark the path of our lives. Hi Filippo, give us all the hope of faith, your smile will shine forever in the sky of Minori and your love will continue to shine in our sea!».
