The closing day of festival of wonders presents a overwhelming calendar of eventswith workshops for adults and children, exhibitions, kite displays, circus showsbut most of all the last postmark of this year dedicated to the famous Bolognese scientist Guglielmo Marconi.

After the opening of the art and ethnic kite area, the giant kite and 3D Air Creations area and the exhibition area – where from 10.00 in the morning the first kites will take flight and paint the sky above Cervia with rainbow colors – visitors, as usual, will have the opportunity to sign up for workshops for adults and children by going to the Fiera del Vento Nord in the ARTEVENTO reception. In fact, the event dedicates thethe most precious part of its annual programming right at the laboratories, as ARTEVENTO CERVIA is the first festival to establish a “kite school” with thematic activities specifically designed to promote the traditions of wind art in relation to the guiding value of environmental sustainability.

The first appointment not to be missedof the last day of the Festival is expected at 10.30 at the ARTEVENTO reception at the Fiera del Vento Nord, where until 6.30pmit will be possible to obtain the celebratory postmark dedicated to Guglielmo Marconi, which historicizes his use of the kite for scientific purposescreated by the temporary postal service of Italian Post Philately. In collaboration with the Guglielmo Marconi Foundation and the Marconi MuseumARTEVENTO CERVIA pays its homage to the great Bolognese scientist in honor of 150 years since his birthanniversary which occurs on 25 April and which ARTEVENTO celebrates during the last day of the event.

In 1901, Marconi managed to pick up the telegraph signal of the letter “S” transmitted from the Poldhu radio station in Cornwall from over 3000 kilometers away. That was it first transatlantic wireless telegraph transmission in history, a success of extraordinary importance for the fate of humanity which Marconi’s genius was able to achieve thanks to the use of a “flying deer” which raised the receiving antenna. This extraordinary historical episode for our destiny testifies to how the thousand-year-old flying object, to which ARTEVENTO dedicates the festival, stimulated the mind of man, leading him to change the fate of transport and communications in the 19th century. It also prefigures the most interesting prospects for the sustainable turning point, highlighting the wind as source of clean, renewable and accessible energy in the contemporary world. The kite, from a pioneering tool to a symbol of change, continues to inspire and promote a vision of the future focused on sustainability.
