Arce crime, the new witnesses could reveal who saw Serena Mollicone for the last time and above all with whom: “She was with a boy, she was crying and he was pulling her”

THE new witnesses involved in the trial increasingly reinforce the past testimonies on themurder of Serena Mollicone – the 18-year-old who disappeared on June 1, 2001 from Arce and was found lifeless two days later in Fontecupa – for which the then commander of the Carabinieri is accused Franco Mottola, his wife and his son Marcoeveryone acquitted at first instance. Two of the new witnesses are from Arce while the other, Maria Pia Fraioliis the coachbuilder’s granddaughter Carmine Belli, the unfortunate protagonist of this tragic story. Beautiful, we remember, he declared having seen Serena on the morning of June 1st at the Chioppetelle bar argue with a boy which the prosecution identified as Marco Mottolathe commander’s son.

He declared: “When I returned on June 2 (while the search for Serena was underway, ed.) my uncle Carmine was at home, I showed him the flyer with Serena’s photo. I then got him a color flyer and went to Arce to get it specifically. He said to me: ‘Yes, she’s the one I saw arguing in front of the bar. She was with a boy, she was crying and he was pulling her‘ and showed confidence in reiterating it. I invited him to go to the barracks in Arce. There are other testimonies from people who were with him that day, he was going to buy paint with a friend. And then my uncle saw and described the clothes Serena was found dead in, along with the never-found handbag”.

Unfortunately, the man who was with him, Pier Paolo Tommaselli, anticipated the sighting by a day, distorting the trial and Belli’s testimony became unreliable. The bodybuilder was responsible for giving this testimony accused of being Serena’s killer and remained unjustly imprisoned for 17 months. “They took the only idiot in Arce who doesn’t know how to defend himself.”, he declared. Now, however, it becomes a central element of the accusation which identifies that blond boy with streaks seen at the bar, Marco Mottola. Why were Serena and Mottola son arguing so hard that day? According to what was declared at Hyenas by Professor Fernando Ferrauti, head of the Frosinone Local Health Authority, some of his drug-addicted patients confessed to him that “Marshal Mottola’s son was a pusher, and he killed a girl who wanted to ruin him”: Ferrauti alerted the police but was ignored.

There cousin by Serena, Luana Sofiayesterday to the Far West cameras he declared: “Mottola was bold, arrogant, a buffoon. He shielded himself because he was the son of the town marshal, everything was allowed to him, even smoking pot in front of the police barracks.” According to the prosecution, Serena had entered the barracks in Arce that day where she probably she died after a violent argumentFor report drug dealing set up by Mottola. Then they would get rid of the body, taken to Fontecupa. The new witnesses could now reveal who saw Serena last and above all with whom. There is another significant detail which could prove crucial. Belli declared at the time that the boy Serena was with was not only blond, but had highlights. The local barber, reached by telephone yesterday during the program, said that “Marco was my client, I did his highlights, yes”.
