He was transporting poison gas without having permission

They caught him while he was illegally transporting a very dangerous asphyxiating gas. The discovery was made by the motorway police who subjected the vehicle and the goods to administrative detention and imposed a fine of 5,000 euros. The operation began in recent days, during a road surveillance service along the A/14 motorway. It was just after 2.30 pm when a patrol from the subsection of the Porto San Giorgio traffic police, at the toll booth

of Porto Sant’ Elpidio, ordered a truck with a Bulgarian registration plate to stop for a normal routine check.

Then, however, what you don’t expect. During the document check, the specialty agents ascertained that the driver was transporting cylinders containing a total of approximately 1,500 kilograms of R427A refrigerant gas,

classified as an extremely dangerous commodity because, in the event of a leak, it transforms into a powerful asphyxiating gas. The traffic police then found out that the driver of the vehicle had never obtained the ADR professional training certificate,

necessary to acquire the necessary competence for the safe transport of dangerous goods. It also emerged that the vehicle with which he was carrying out transport on behalf of third parties from

Bulgaria to Italy was not authorized to carry out international transport

because it does not have the required community license.

After operations

of ritual and further checks, the truck and the goods

were therefore subjected to administrative detention,

while the driver received an administrative sanction

of a total sum of 5000 euros.
