produced organic oil and wine in Silvi

A piece of history is gone, a human and moral reference for several generations: Giovanni Fuschi, for everyone Gianni, died yesterday in the early afternoon after having fought an illness with that great dignity typical of those who throughout their lives had wanted to share their earthly journey. Fifty-four years old, agricultural entrepreneur, the boy from Coco Beach who became a man in the historic dance epic of that Pearl of Silvi, his marriage to Natascia, an internationally renowned sommelier, his vocation for work and socialising, but also for “sharing” the products of earth, he underlined one evening, in one of the many memorable events left in the drawer of memories of countless friends.

The loss of Gianni – esteemed and known by the entire city – is a pain that shakes and digs into the depths of a generation, the one that made the city a focal point of the entire Adriatic coast, actively contributing to its social progress. Sunny, inclined towards the common good, polite and jovial, endowed with expertise like few others in the sector, the painful loss of Gianni shook everyone, causing an uninterrupted flood of messages on social media to remember him as a “special person”.

In the toponymy that persists in the historic center of the town, one of the alleys is dedicated to the Fuschi family, one of the oldest lineages that harks back to the mid-nineteenth century, when the Fuschis are already present in the Onciario Land Registry. In 1927 Gianni’s great-grandmother, still remembered as “Zà Grazie”, was among the first people to open a Cantina Fuschi on the main street of the town, giving the good wine from the generous hills to drink to sailors returning from fishing. Gianni’s father, the legendary “Daddy”, then ran a hardware store until a few years ago, when Gianni and David, after purchasing a plot of land, opened the agricultural company, with the technical and scientific support of Natascia, the wife of Gianni, current president of the Lions Terre del Cerrano. In just a few years, remaining tied to the traditions of the territory, producing PDO and PGI wines as well as pure quality oil, the company has obtained national and international recognition, always supported by painstaking work which has had the certified organic system as its cornerstone.
The news of his death caused deep emotion not only in Silvi, but in the entire area. Already in the early afternoon, many people approached the family, going to the company store, located on the Statale Adriatica. Gianni leaves behind Natascia and his daughter Maja, his brother David and his mother Margherita, his brothers Joe, Paolo and David. Funeral scheduled for tomorrow afternoon, at 3pm, at the church of Santissimo San Salvatore, in the historic center of the town, where it all began.
