President Flavio Massaro’s Saval Maddalena raises the third category provincial cup to the skies by beating mister Roberto Sandrini’s Real Minerbe who dominated group B with 21 wins, 7 draws and no defeats, closing at +11 on their first pursuers. In the first half the two teams studied each other and struggled to create scoring opportunities. After a quarter of an hour, the local Giallorossi of coach Antonio Ardolino tried with Samir Zaouak’s shot instinctively saved with his foot by Niccolò Guglielmo. Mister Roberto Sandrini’s neroverdi respond a few minutes after Mohamed El Hasnaoui’s poisonous free kick which grazes the crossbar of the goal defended by former Milan and Ambrosiana goalkeeper Gianmarco Scalera. The half ends with the two teams tied at 0-0.
In the second half the pace increased and Saval Maddalena emerged more determined from the changing rooms in the first quarter of an hour and scored twice, first with Ibrahima Rouwoje who headed the Giallorossi’s lead, then with Zaouak, well fed by Franco, who shot goal finding the goal of 2 to 0. President Alberto Tenzon’s Real Minerbe shakes itself and tries to react looking for the goal that would reopen the match. Instead, it was once again the Giallorossi led by Lamberto Manfè who scored just before the half hour mark with Mattia Dalla Rosa who, after an insistent personal action, beat the Neroverde goalkeeper Niccolò Guglielmo for the third time. The 3-0 goal put a damper on Real Minerbe’s hopes of a comeback as shortly after the half hour mark they scored the 3-1 goal which only made the defeat with striker Mattia Fraccaroli less burdensome. At the final whistle from Mr. Bellotti from the Verona section, the joy of the Giallorossi fans explodes.
