It could be the video surveillance cameras installed in the Carpaneto areain the province of Piacenza, to provide the information needed to frame the hit-and-run driver who, late in the evening of Saturday 27 April, overwhelmed and killed a man of 57 years oldthen died during the night as a result serious trauma that he had reported. The victim, Michele Dallavallelived a few meters from the place where he was hit by a vehicle which he didn’t stopand whom the carabinieri are now hunting.
It all happened just before midnight on Saturday, when a passing woman, on her way home, noticed a man lying on the ground on the asphalt at the side of the road, visibly injured and semi-conscious. Nearby is the Carpaneto Public Assistance office where the woman went to ask for help. When i first responders they approached and immediately realized that the man was in serious condition and asked the 118 operations center in Parma for the support of an advanced medical vehicle. The medical vehicle soon arrived from the Fiorenzuola hospital station and the 57-year-old, who before losing consciousness reported having been hit by a car shortly before, was urgently transported to the Guglielmo da Saliceto hospital in Piacenza.
A couple of hours after his arrival, however, his condition worsened and he died in the emergency room of the Piacenza emergency room despite everything being tried to save him. His clinical picture was of serious trauma and bruises over a large part of his body, in particular a head injury and a fractured pelvis.
In the meantime the carabinieri of the Fiorenzuola company have started investigations: a patrol from the mobile radio unit and one with colleagues from the Carpaneto station intervened on site. It appears there were no visible traces or pieces of cars. The attention of the investigators was therefore focused on surveillance cameras in the area. In the meantime, the Piacenza prosecutor’s office could already arrange for an autopsy by the medical examiner and other investigations to reconstruct the dynamics of the facts in the next few hours.
