The Faenza 5 Star Movement declares itself satisfied with how the reasoning and reflections have developed on the building requests in the flooded areas (Ghilana and Biancanigo) and on the discussion, still open, for the drafting of the General Urban Plan (PUG).

“We remind you – continues Marco Neri, leader of the M5S Faenza group – that on May 3rd the deadlines for the extensions to complete the agreements will expire, after which hundreds of hectares of land, both productive and residential, will return to their original destination, losing their building rights. In the City Council meeting on Tuesday 23/04/24, both the opposition and the majority benches expressed disconcerting and conflicting statements, to say the least, above all the representative of Italia Viva, with personal and allusive questions”.

The spokesperson of the Five Star Movement underlines and criticizes the only ideology present in this historical period, which is the neoliberal one which conveys an increasingly pervasive individualism to the detriment of the community and the common good. “We reiterate our firm position towards an approach that puts the principle of citizen safety first and that stimulates territorial redevelopment rather than urban expansion, to accelerate and work in this sense on the General Urban Plan and the Action Plan for the ‘Sustainable Energy and Climate, as well as identifying and using existing properties for urban regeneration while awaiting the special plan for risk areas.’

“The public body must do its part” concludes the group leader of the 5 Stars, recalling that “the position of the five-star members in the city council and in the administration is in line with the principles that distinguish us and with the electoral program for which we were elected which reports to point two (environment and territory) to put an end to land consumption according to the principles of the regional urban planning law and to point four (economic development and work) in which construction and new construction sites represent a fundamental driver for the local economy through interventions aimed at recovering existing real estate assets and increasing energy efficiency” concludes Neri, Group Leader of the 5 Star Movement in Faenza.
