– It has emerged in recent days that there was a time in the past when Furious – new chapter of George Miller’s saga soon to be released – should have become an anime that should have been titled The Peach.
The direction of the film was entrusted to the Japanese Mahiro Maeda (Neon Genesis Evangelion, The Animatrix). No other information about the plot was provided.
– Deadline reports that Ghost House Pictures has signed on Francis Galluppi (High Desert Hell) to write and direct another brand new film in the saga of The House / Evil Dead. The project is described as an original story that Galluppi developed himself and then showed to Sam Raimi and his team. There is no word yet on the plot or who will produce it.
– Netflix has released the poster and trailer for a new action-packed animated series titled Garouden: The Way of the Lone Wolfinspired by the novels written by the Japanese writer Baku Yumemakura —> details
– Speaking with the Happy Sad Confused podcast this week, Elisabeth Mossthe star of the film The invisible man (2020) talked about the possibility of a sequel:
Blumhouse is my production company [Love & Squalor Pictures] …we are closer than ever to an agreement. And I really like the idea. We’re really intent on continuing that story.
– While Justin Marks – the co-creator of the series Shogun – believes a second season is unlikely, during an interview with THR he stated that there is still the possibility that, if we could find an interesting story to tell, it could be discussed:
I think if we had a story, if we could find a story… we would be open to the possibility [di un’altra stagione]. But I don’t think anyone would ever want to jump into the void without a map. And it’s also about understanding whether the public really wants more [di Shōgun].
– S. Craig Zahler (Bone Tomahawk) offered an update on the status of his projects:
Some items announced The Big Stone Grid like my next film, which is not entirely correct. I’m submitting the script as a possible fifth film, but I’ve made much more progress with another original project to direct for what would be my fourth film: I’m negotiating deals to see if it becomes a reality. I will give more information on this when things are more certain.
– In a new interview with RadioTimes (via GamesRadar), the director Zack Snyder stated that although he believes that transforming his Rebel Moon in a four-part saga that “makes sense,” there might be an opportunity to even get to six chapters:
Four or six filmsit depends… I think the question is whether every time we decide to shoot one of these chapters we actually make two [come accaduto con quelli già usciti].
– It seems that Netflix has decided to abandon the franchise The Witcher. It was recently announced that the main series will end with the fifth season, and now What’s on Netflix reports that the streamer has decided not to continue the two previously announced spinoffs, The Rats and another untitled one.
– The Walking Dead it is the franchise that – in practice – is single-handedly keeping the AMC network and its creator going Robert Kirkman he would also like to adapt it one day into an animated series more faithful to the original comic:
I would love for it to happen one day, but I don’t think it will be possible until I get the rights back from AMC. There have definitely been developments for something like this over the years, and there are many fans who would still like to see this project come to fruition.
– John Logan (Gladiator, The Aviator, Skyfall) will write the screenplay for the film adaptation of Blood meridian by writer Cormac McCarthy- The director tasked with the task is John Hillcoat (The Road, Lawless).
