ANCONA He plays Aida at the Del Conero. It’s not a triumph, of course. But a danger escaped. Which perhaps, in some respects, can apply in the same way. Ancona is safe, draws with Lucchese and avoids the Lega Pro playouts (thanks to Fermana’s simultaneous defeat, at home, against Pescara). A sigh of relief that smells – finally – of a future that can be planned by learning from the mistakes made and transforming them into virtues. As football has often taught in these parts in the past.
The merits of Boscaglia
Roberto Boscaglia, the Sicilian coach who arrived just over a month ago after the Recanati debacle, has the typical face of a mission accomplished. Calm, but satisfied. Sober, but aware. To the five promotions in his career he adds another goal: because the salvation of Ancona, at the moment of his landing, was anything but a given. And anyone who has followed this championship, in all its facets and vicissitudes, knows this well. The sprint with Sestri Levante, the feat against the Adriatico in Pescara, the exclamation point with Lucchese: three weeks that chased away the ghosts, delivering a peaceful summer to the Doric public. Even yesterday, in terms of numbers and heat, at the top of the rankings. Let this be a warning to the club in the summer.
Glimmering emotions
Not a lively race, especially in the first half dominated by tactics and prudence. Lots of mistakes in midfield, imprecise maneuvering and few opportunities. The clearest gasp comes from the usual Coli Saco who has a goal disallowed – millimetric offside – following the development of a good play by Cella. In the second half, also thanks to Recchioni’s result, the two teams broke up and the show benefited from this. Cioffi comes close to taking the lead and scoring his first goal of the season. Perucchini puts his usual hands to defend the net.
The message for the future
Then the final whistle. The hugs of those who trembled. When the team goes under the North – displaying a long banner summarizing all the feelings felt during the year, sending a message to the club and players for tomorrow – the images of an incredible year flow. «Flowers are born from manure», sang Fabrizio De Andrè in 1967. A success that remained so, overcoming the barriers of space and time. Which leaves behind morals and teaching, even in sport. Has President Tiong, who surprisingly appeared in the stands for the appointment three months after the last time, ever heard this extraordinary song?
