A serious road accident it occurred today, close to lunch time, along the State Road 108 bis in the municipality of Casali del Manco, in the middle of Sila. For reasons still under investigation, at least three motorbikes they would have hit a car in transit in location Mellaro.
The impact is serious: a motorcyclist – the 37 year old Frank Melina, of Settingiano – he lost his life while two others were seriously injured.
The emergency services arrived immediately and, after having confirmed the death of the unfortunate victim, they the air ambulance was alerted for the survivors.
The two are have been urgently transferred at the hospital Lamezia Terme, and they would have reported several traumas to multiple parts of the body.Despite the gravity of the situation they would not be in danger of life.
Investigations are now underway to try to ascertain the dynamics of the accident, and the road is blocked for traffic in both directions. In the meantime, however, the 41 year old who was driving the car it ended at House arrest. The motorist was indeed found positive alcohol test: at the moment the charge for him is road homicide.
