WEATHER FORECAST FOR MAY 1ST

Genoa – The forecast weather over Italy for the day after tomorrow, Tuesday 30 Apriland for the next four days.

North: very cloudy in Liguria, Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta with isolated rainfall in the morning in the westernmost areas but which will become increasingly frequent from the afternoon and evening, also extending to the remaining areas of Piedmont and Liguria with scattered rain and showers, locally also of a stormy nature; initially clear or slightly cloudy in the rest of the North but with clouds generally increasing from the west and with isolated showers or thunderstorms from the afternoon and evening over Emilia-Romagna and western Lombardy.
Center and Sardinia: on Sardinia isolated rain until the early morning and followed by scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms until the end of the day; clear or slightly cloudy in the central peninsula but with isolated showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening in Tuscany, Umbria and Marche and clouds generally increasing from the west from the evening.
South and Sicily: cloudy over Sicily but with intensifying clouds and which will be associated with isolated rain or showers starting from the west from late afternoon and evening; initially clear in the southern peninsula, with clouds increasing from the south and more significant clouds generally increasing in the evening from the west.
Temperatures: stationary minimums over Sardinia and Calabria, increasing over the rest of Italy especially in the North and central Apennines; maximums decreasing in western Liguria, Piedmont and Sardinia, slightly increasing in Lombardy, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Umbria, Marche, Abruzzo, Molise and northern Puglia, stationary in the rest of the territory.
Winds: eastern moderates on Sicily with reinforcements on the western and northern sectors; weak eastern forces on the rest of the country, with reinforcements on Sardinia and, from the north, on western Liguria.
Mari: the Sardinian sea is very rough with decreasing wave motion; from rough to very rough the south-western Tyrrhenian Sea and very rough Strait of Sicily and Channel of Sardinia; the Adriatic is almost calm or not very rough with increasing wave motion in the central sector; the northern Ionian from slightly rough to rough and the southern one from rough to very rough; slightly moved eastern Ligurian Sea and the Tyrrhenian along the peninsular coasts; the remaining sectors of the Ligurian and Tyrrhenian Seas were moved.

Wednesday 1st May

Widespread instability across much of the country, with scattered to widespread rainfall, especially in the North and on the central-southern side of the western side, also with a shower or thunderstorm character especially on the major islands and the central-southern peninsula, with phenomena ceasing in the evening on the two major islands and on the peninsular Ionian areas and only partially on the central-southern Adriatic. Snowfall also widespread in Valle d’Aosta and the Piedmont Alps but at altitudes no lower than 2,000 m.

Thursday 2 May

Still widespread instability with scattered to widespread rainfall, including thunderstorms in the North, Sardinia and the central-southern peninsula on the western side while it will be completely sporadic in Sicily and the central-southern Adriatic and Ionian Seas. Snowfall also spread across Valle d’Aosta and the Piedmont Alps at altitudes no lower than 1,800-1,900 metres.

Friday 3 May

Marked variability on both days, with scattered precipitation of a predominantly shower or thunderstorm nature which will mainly affect the North and Central-South peninsula of the western side on Friday and the entire Central-South, including the major islands, on Saturday .
