Descriptive text here

After telling herself without filters in the fourth episode of BeastsLoredana “Lory” Del Santo has returned to retrace her life, adventurous and heartbreaking, from Mara Venier to Sunday In. An occasion in which the TV face spoke about the tragic death of his children, Conor and Loren. The first, which fell from the 53rd floor of a Manhattan skyscraper when she was only 5 years old, was the fruit of the great love between Lory and Eric Clapton. The guitarist, however, ran away as soon as he learned of the pregnancy.

The story with Eric Clapton

«With Eric Clapton it was a thwarted love. He was our first child, I wanted him, there was so much enthusiasm. When I got pregnant, he disappeared for six months, then his agent called me to ask me how much money I wanted”, the actress said on Rai 1. And again: “I wasn’t thinking about the money, so I refused. Eric then wrote me a wonderful letter when I was in my sixth month. He said to me ‘I want to come and see you’. He came and we were together. He had my heart, he said beautiful things to me, then he left again and took the letter with him. It was the child’s test.” On the other hand, Del Santo explained, with Clapton «it was like being on a roller coaster. To give birth to Conor I went to London, he got me a house. A particular period began, I always say that my life seems like a film.”

Loren’s suicide

A film that, however, was often dramatic. In fact, the trauma of the death of the first child was compounded by that of the suicide of the second, Loren, in 2018. «Losing children is terrible – said Del Santo -. The image is of me lying on the ground. At first I would lie on the floor for hours. Then I thought ‘what do I do? Will I stay like this all my life?’ and I got up. When you get up once, you are able to get up again.” Loren suffered from anhedonia, a pathological condition that prevents him from experiencing pleasure. What his mother defines as «a hidden illness»: «When you don’t have a culture in this field it’s difficult to understand. I understood that he had problems, I thought he was temperamentally like that. I don’t mind being alone, and he was lonely too. He had done all the exams at school, I played sports, so I didn’t think he could have a problem.” «When the problem is not evident – he concluded -, there are no solutions. If I had known now, I would have lived badly anyway, because it would have happened anyway.”
