A terrible accident occurred this morning, just before 7am, on the western ring road near the exit for the Milano Ghisolfa motorway barrier, heading north, and via Novara. In all there were 11 injured, one of which was very serious, hospitalized under code red, three under code yellow. The firefighters of the provincial command of via Messina – Milan, and the ambulance rescuers of the Red Cross of Buccinasco, of the Croce Viola of Rozzano, of Padana Emergenza of Milan, of Soccorso Rho, the Green Cross of Milan and Ata rescue of Milan, with them also two medical cars.
The injured
The accident involved a van, with 6 people of Pakistani origin on board, and 3 cars. Although traffic was at a standstill, rescuers and doctors arrived in time to treat and take the boys aged 24, 27 and 28 and two girls aged 22 and 24 to hospital. Others injured are three 36-year-old men, a 30-year-old woman, another 38-year-old man and a 62-year-old man.
Red and yellow code
The most serious, a 24-year-old girl, was immediately transported, under code red, to the emergency room of the Niguarda hospital. Three other injured people were transported under code yellow. One in the emergency room of the Rozzano hospital. Another in code yellow at the emergency room of the San Carlo hospital and one at the polyclinic. Two others were transported under green code to San Carlo and Niguarda. The remaining injured were treated and cared for on site. Upon the arrival of the firefighters, the red helmets then worked to help the traffic police divert the traffic, to clear the road of the accidented vehicles and restore the safety conditions of the junction. Then investigations began to establish the dynamics of the accident.
