Livorno The lifeless body found on the night between 27 and 28 April belongs to a 47-year-old man. The body was found around 1.30 exactly in the ditches between Piazza della Repubblica and Scali delle Cantine.
Passers-by noticed it and raised the alarm. The carabinieri and an SVS ambulance intervened on the spot as well as the firefighters of the naval section who worked to recover and transport the body.
The 118 doctor could not help but confirm his death after being in the water for many hours.
The Carabinieri soldiers are investigating the matter and are trying to reconstruct the episode going back to the last hours of the 47-year-old’s life, no hypothesis excluded.

An episode that recalls a similar event that happened in the area about two years ago.
It was April 25, 2022 when the body of a young Tunisian was found in the Medici ditches. After reconstruction, it emerged that the young man was running away from the controls of a police car in the Piazza della Repubblica area. The escape by bicycle and then on foot along a staircase of a nautical club under Piazza Garibaldi was noticed by a Folgore patrol who had alerted the police. After about an hour of searching, the young man was located and recovered lifeless.
