FOLIGNO – On the run with 600 roast sheep, some bottles of wine and two 5-litre cans of extra virgin olive oil. It is the balance of the loot that a gourmet thief stole, in two separate raids, from inside the tavern of the La Mora district in Vicolo Perticchetti, an area of the center adjacent to Via Gramsci. There were two thefts. The first discovered on Monday, and probably scored during the previous night, yielded 600 kebabs. The thief, however, also went, so to speak, into “Tom Thumb mode” given that some “pieces” of the stolen goods fell into the street as if to signal the direction of escape. To complete the work, given that the skewers must be cooked and can be accompanied by a good drink, the thief, probably always the same person, did an encore, taking away some bottles of wine and also two 5 cans of oil. liters each. There are different things to explore about the matter. We start by searching for analogies between the two episodes. Then there is the possibility that the stolen goods may have been stolen and then resold in some way. Or we are dealing with a technically “pure” theft, in the sense that the person who stole it probably stole those products for personal use. Little changes because we are always in the presence of a crime. The repair costs due to the damage caused by the thief must also be added to the amount of the stolen property. A mirror of the wooden door of the tavern was damaged and used by the criminal as an opening. Furthermore, at least in one case the theft remained somewhat incomplete as the arrival of some locals may have put the thug to flight. In fact, the freezer was found open and some drawers of a piece of furniture in the checkout area were found literally in disarray. Which would also suggest a search for money which evidently was not identified as it was not present within the spaces of the tavern in the La Mora district. The gourmet bandit may not have acted alone. In the sense that outside the structure in Vicolo Pertichetti, or in any case close to the area, there may have been an accomplice with the functions of a lookout ready to report the arrival of presences, these being legal, unwanted. Obviously these are hypotheses that will still need to be investigated further. The only certain thing, at the moment, are the thefts that have occurred against the premises of La Mora which extend the list of episodes of theft and damage to activities which for some months, and often during night time, have been particularly damaging. the historic center. The controls are there, the cameras too. Evidently, however, there is someone who cares very little about respecting other people’s things and who does not take the slightest consideration that the damage he causes, which often exceeds the value of the stolen goods, causes unnecessary costs to be borne by the citizen who suffers the theft. And finally, it remains to be understood whether or not many of these episodes may have had the same signature or, even, may have been committed by the same hand.
