On Saturday evening, Conegliano’s Imoco Volley beat Savino Del Bene Scandicci 3 sets to 1 in game 4 of the finals of the women’s volleyball championship and won the Scudetto for the sixth consecutive time.

The finals are won in the best of five games, that is, whoever gets to three first wins: Saturday’s was precisely the third victory in the series for Conegliano, who in game 1 had lost 3-2 in Treviso, where plays their home games, and then in game 2 and game 3 they won 3-2 and 3-1 respectively.

Conegliano is the team that has dominated Italian volleyball in recent years: since 2018 it has always won the Scudetto, and in May the Champions League, the main European club competition, will be played in the final against Vero Volley Milano.

Its full name is Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano: it is the team from one of the two cities north of Treviso where the production of prosecco is concentrated (the other is Valdobbiadene), and in recent years it has become one of the most competitive in the world . Between 2019 and 2021 the Venetian team, coached since 2017 by Daniele Santarelli, won 76 consecutive matches in all competitions, a world record in women’s volleyball.
