Yesterday afternoon, the boy from Sasso, who was the victim of a very serious accident on the evening of April 24th along the Porrettana Vecchia in the Pontecchio Marconi area, was declared dead by the doctors of the Maggiore hospital, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit in desperate conditions . Manuel Bedonni, a 25-year-old worker, was riding his motorbike on Wednesday. It was 9.10pm when, for reasons that the Sasso police are investigating, he crashed head-on with a truck. After the violent impact, he was stuck under his motorcycle. He had been revived on the asphalt, his heart had started beating again. And for a moment the hope had been that he could do it. Yesterday, however, every light went out. And Manuel’s family, in an extreme gesture of love, decided to donate his organs. Manuel would have turned 26 on Wednesday.
A heartbreak for mother Katia and for an entire family already affected by mourning. Manuel’s father, Marco, had in fact died just a year ago, in April 2023, following a long illness: passionate about motors, he had passed this love on to his son. “In life you shouldn’t have dreams and then lock them in a drawer, that’s why I set goals for myself and always achieve them”, wrote Manuel under a photo of him, posted on his Instagram profile. And the twenty-five-year-old had many dreams. He had bought the new motorbike, a Super Duke Kawasaki, last year. And with his friends she loved riding it along the roads of the Apennines, on the Futa and also on the track of the Misano circuit named after Marco Simoncelli. Last November, in Rioveggio, together with his father’s historic friends, he organized the memorial ‘Remembering Marco – United in the same passion’. “With Marco we should have raced together – says our friend Andrea Brusa, rally driver –. We wanted to give Manuel a rally car so that he could also compete in the next memorial dedicated to his father. Instead, after this umpteenth tragedy that happened in Manuel, we will propose it again, but to remember both of us.”
