On Monday 29 April at 4.30 pm in the Hall of the Department of Mathematical Mechanics and Management (DMMM) of the Polytechnic of Bari (vehicular access from via Orabona, 4) a meeting will take place between the organizers of the philanthropic project “CUSAability, Sport without limits ” and the athletes with different abilities returning from the first regional swimming competition and their families.
The project, launched in July 2023, aimed to enhance sport as a great tool for inclusion and social cohesion to make a difference in improving the quality of life of people with different abilities and their families. For this reason, the Rotary Clubs of the city of Bari, the Aldo Moro University, the Opera Pia Monte di Pietà e Confidenze di Molfetta and the University Sports Center of Bari, with the contribution of Banca Aletti, have decided to create “CUSability, Sport without limits”, a project aimed at 20 young students with different sensory, motor and intellectual-relational abilities.
The presidents of Rotary Bari, prof. Riccardo Amirante, of Rotary Bari Ovest, prof. Carmine Clemente, of Rotary Bari Sud, dr. Marco Ligrani, of the Rotary Bari Castello, Dr. Vincenzo d’Ambrosio Lettieri, of the Rotary Bari Mediterraneo, dr. Paolo Lepore, and of the Opera Pia Monte di Pietà and delle Confidenze of Molfetta, eng. Sergio de Ceglia, creators and supporters of the project. The co-organizers of CUS Bari will also be present, the president Antonio Prezioso and Pasquale Triggiani, with the instructors and coaches, Clara Mongelli and Chiara Morgese, the president of the Steering Committee, prof. Gabriella Coppole, of Uniba, the president of the Committee Scientific, prof. Luigi Di Lorenzo also from Uniba, a representation of the young athletes protagonists of the project, who will wear the t-shirt designed and created specifically for “CUSability Sport without limits”
During the meeting, the results obtained in the first competition of the FISDIR (Italian Paralympic Sports Federation of Relational Intellectuals) Regional Swimming Championships which will take place on Sunday 28th will also be communicated, as well as the program for the last months of athletic training.
