Also this year, the Genoese composer Matteo Maria Camponero participate in Composer Festival, now in its 18th edition. The festival, which boasts the patronage of the Municipality of Genoa, the Liguria Region Municipality and the Metropolitan City of Genoa, is organized by the “Liguria Eventi” Cultural Association, in collaboration with the Carlo Felice Theater of Genoa. Appointment Saturday 27 April 2024, at 8 pm, at the first foyer Carlo Felice Theater of Genoa. The Composer Festival is a Free admission until seats last.
Born in 2006 thanks to Carla Casanova to educate the public to listen to the creative ideas of musicians, the Festival gives the opportunity to appreciate the new compositional ideas especially of young people. The fact that it has been taking place in the first theater in our city for three editions is certainly an added value for the initiative.
For this edition Matteo Maria Camponero presents Wedding suite for violin and piano.The Suite created for solo violin was commissioned for the wedding of a dear friend of the composer. It was the music of the wedding function and ceremony with all its most important moments: entrance of the groom, entrance of the bride,Blessing and exchange of wedding rings,Offertory,Eucharistic Prayer,Communion,Outgoing procession. The version for the Festival is adapted for violin and piano, the dialogue is not as dense as in the sonata relationship between the two instruments, but rather the use of the piano acts as a harmonious and chromatic background for the violin which remains the protagonist. An almost theatrical background given to the violin by the piano is fundamental and transparent at the same time.
I am the one carrying it out Pietro Genova Gaia, the violinist who started playing at the age of 5, first with the piano and then at 7 with the violin who graduated from the Niccolò Paganini conservatory in Genoa and who now lives in London after graduating from the Royal College of Music. To his credit he already has many important concerts performed all over the world; And Christian Pastorinoanother Genoese talent, who will instead be on the piano. Even him he obtained a diploma with honors and honorable mention at the Conservatory of Genoa. Winner of various piano prizes, he has taken part in various events, including those organized on the occasion of the centenary of the GOG in Genoa in 2012. Pastorino has held concerts in various Italian cities, both in the solo and chamber music fields, and regularly collaborates in duo with the violinists Giulio Plotinus and Olexander Pushkarenko.
