The investigations into the death of Omar Khalaf, who died at just 18 years old, after a week in hospital, due to injuries sustained in the accident in which he was involved on the night between 8 and 9 September 2023 in via Mancino, have concluded. , in Lonato del Garda.
Now that the investigations are closed, according to what the newspaper reported Bresciaoggi it emerges that the only suspect is the boy who was just over 18 years old who that evening was behind the wheel of the car, owned by a relative of his, in which Omar Khalaf was traveling – for fun – in the trunk. The crime for which the young man could end up on trial is that of vehicular homicide.
The attempt at misdirection
According to the reconstructions of the investigators, made possible also thanks to the footage of some video cameras installed in the area, the driver suddenly accelerated, causing his peer to fall from the trunk, hitting his head on the asphalt. The first version of events reported by Omar instead spoke of a fall from the scooter. After a week in hospital, the young man’s heart stopped beating. Now it will be known whether the driver of the car will end up in court.
